Last year’s conference had a full crowd for a second year in a row! The presentations and breakout sessions focused on creating a team for success. The highlight was of course the final round of live pitches for the grants. Six local women received 7 grants totaling $ 10,500 intended to improve profitability and stimulate growth for their small businesses. Through sponsorships and ticket sales, the WEC Planning Committee raised $ 15,000 for this year’s grant competition. In fact, this year, we are offering 13 total grants guaranteeing a minimum of $ 500.00 to each semi-finalist in the grant competition.
The Women’s Entrepreneurial Conference is a one-day educational conference for Utah women business owners featuring general sessions, breakouts and grant pitching competition. The conference helps women develop skills, access resources and build relationships in order to run more scale-able and profitable businesses. Conference is presented by the Utah Women’s Networking Group, Women’s Business Center and Utah’s Own. All profit from the annual conference is reinvested back into women-owned businesses through grants to help fund growth.
