Our Events

If you are a woman owned business and are interested in the Women’s Entrepreneurial Conference Grant Competition, we hope you will apply during our enrollment period of Dec. 1st – Jan 31st. We invite our community to support this event and hope you will plan to attend a day full of great resources, training, inspiring business pitches, networking, and connections. Attend a pitch workshop in the months leading up to the conference and learn from our judges what goes into pitching a business idea. We work hard to prepare you to pitch your own business and win a grant. Thank you again to all of our great supporters!

About Our 2021 Event:

The WEC Planning Committee is proud to host the Women’s Entrepreneurial Conference <em>virtually</em> on Wednesday, April 21st from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This year’s theme, <em><strong>Measuring and Sustaining the Health &amp; Wellness of You and Your Business</strong></em> will provide a variety of breakout sessions to inspire entrepreneurs in any stage of business. The morning and afternoon Grant competition sessions are no cost presented by our sponsors Chase Bank, American Express, Mountain West Small Business Finance and the Salt Lake Community College Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program. The main sessions will feature presentations on the Importance of Continued Learning (morning), Understanding the Generations to Promote Cultural Wellness (lunch) and the WEC Grant Final Competition (afternoon).

Besides the main sessions, the Conference will include 2 Breakout Sessions (1 hour each with a choice of 3 topics) and one Main Panel. The topics are based on the stage of your business: 0-3 years, 2-5 years and 5 years plus.

As you grow your business, funding is crucial to each stage of your growth. But sometimes, it’s easier than others to find the banks and/or programs you need to succeed. Are you a Utah female business owner looking to grow your business? The Women’s Entrepreneurial Conference (WEC) was created as a learning and growth tool just for you! In 2019, the WEC plans to award 6 finalist Grants to Utah Women Business Owners through it’s Pitch Competition at the Women’s Entrepreneurial Conference on Wednesday, April 17th at Holladay City Hall.

This year, the WEC Committee is giving out 25 grants total ranging from $ 250 – $ 5,000. In addition to the grant competition, we will have learning opportunities for all attendees at some great breakout sessions through the day. There is networking and a delicious lunch and sponsor booths with resources for you!
